Ryan Ferraro
Ryan Ferraro was sentenced to 2 years probation, served concurrently, for evidence tampering and posession.
The animal cruelty charges were dropped.
Prosecutors were forced to drop several charges against Ferraro at trial. The child victim of his assault failed to show up to testify against him. Investigators failed to photograph the dogs at the scene. Also, the dogs' owners failed to have them seen by a vet to determine the extent of their injuries.
For anyone who has ever said "What's the big deal? It's just a dog,"
this is the case that drives the point that anyone who commits acts of violence and cruelty against an animal is more than capable of the same acts against people.
Ryan Ferraro, who had just turned 18 at the time of his offense, is facing numerous charges against animals and humans. He was left home alone in November 2010 while family members went on vacation.
Upon their return, they discovered Ferrarro had broken into several locked rooms of the house.
When questioned by Santa Rosa County sheriff deputies, Ferraro admitted he broken into the rooms. He further explained that he had beaten the dogs ( a Pomeranian and an American Eskimo Dog), thrown one dog from the second floor balcony, and raped both dogs (incidentally, beastiality is not illegal in Florida). Upon questioning additinal family members, police discovered that Ferrarro had exposed himself to, and tried to rape, a young girl.
